In India, they take great pride in the sentiment that ‘everything is possible’. Exemplifying this concept, Sunburn have announced the full line-up for their colossal 2014 festival, which will take place at Vagator Beach, Goa from 27th – 29th December. In addition to the hard-hitting dance music acts announced in their first phase, Sunburn dig even deeper to celebrate the full spectrum of electronic music with their second batch of artists, with Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Oliver Dollar, Francesca Lombardo and Chris Lake just a selection of the newly confirmed acts Sunburn are set to welcome to Goa.
Heading up the festival’s latest phase and bringing his ‘Rebel Rave’ to Goa is Crosstown Rebels head Damian Lazarus, a driving force behind the second-wave house movement that now dominates dance floors across Europe and USA. Damian is respected as much for his unrivalled A&R and encyclopaedic knowledge of music as he is for his innovative and creative productions. Having debuted his collaborative artist project The Ancient Moons earlier this year, Lazarus’ visionary approach to production perfectly embodies the spirit of Goa and will serve as an ideal soundtrack for those in pursuit of ultimate escapism.
Another equally special guest is Hot Creations founder Jamie Jones, whose deeper brand of techno has been central to the genre’s recent explosion. Rounding off an incredible 2014 that’s seen his Paradise residency remain one of the most in demand parties of the Ibiza season, Jamie’s knack for throwing the perfect party is second to none and his visit to India is already shaping up to be unmissable. Also joining the ranks are Crosstown Rebel star Francesco Lombardo and Berlin native Oliver Dollar, who will make his Sunburn debut after storming the UK charts this summer with his smash hit ‘Pushing On’. Holding up the more experimental, bass heavy spectrum of house music is DBridge, a prominent figure from London’s vibrant underground scene for well over two decades.
Joining the festival’s main stage is Grammy-nominated Scottish producer Chris Lake, who will indulge Sunburn’s revellers in the deeper realms of electronic music. Also offering up his signature sound of electro-house will be Sidney Samson, who topped the UK charts back in 2011 with ‘Riverside’, whilst the deep house sounds of Klingande will bring a hint of soul to the three-day festival. Adding a feminine touch to proceedings is mystical Australian born songstress Emma Hewitt who will make her Sunburn debut this year – an artist often known to leave the stage, microphone in hand, to join the revellers in the arena below.
Dutch trance producer Dannic is also set to explore his production repertoire to the fullest, whilst Eelke Kleijn will support Sunburn’s house and techno sector aftergoing from strength to strength since the release of his eclectic debut album ‘Untold Stories’ back in 2010. Sunburn favourite Shaan will also return to Sunburn having made his debut at the age of 15 back in 2010 alongside the intriguing sounds of Ale Mora.
Representing the festival’s dedicated psytrance stage is Avalon, who’s set to appear alongside long-time collaborator and fellow psytrancer Sonic Species, both of whom will also be Joined by Serbian trance producer E-Clip, Ibiza’s Earthling and a whole host of the genre’s supporting cast.
Elsewhere, local artist Diatonik, a DJ who has gained an excellent reputation since starting to play further afield in 2013, is set to bring his signature blend of house and techno to proceedings. Rounding off the phase two line-up is tastemaker DJ and world-touring artist Jonty Scrufff, who will make his Goa bow this year.
Witnessing crowds of over 160,000 people, Sunburn is Asia’s biggest dance music festival and has been an integral part of India’s growing association with electronic music over the last eight years. With its culture deep-rooted in Goa Trance, Sunburn has consistently delivered some of the biggest names in dance music, welcoming the likes of Hardwell, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia and Tiësto to the island in recent years. Having already announced Knife Party, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Sander Van Doorn, Sasha and many more for its 2014 edition, this year’s line up only adds to the excitement already surrounding the festival.
