Coyu & Ramiro Lopez – Clap Your Hands
Release Date | Out Now
Revered producer, DJ and Suara label boss Coyu has joined forces with fellow Spanish artist Ramiro Lopez on ‘Clap Your Hands’, forthcoming on September 5th via Adam Beyer’s renowned Drumcode imprint.
A versatile producer, ‘Clap Your Hands’ allows Coyu to display his talent for harder-edged techno. Pounding drums, metallic rattling, a tension-filled breakdown and the eponymous distorted vocal sample help to ensure the track fits in perfectly with Drumcode’s high-quality repertoire. Made with the dancefloor in mind, Coyu debuted ‘Clap Your Hands‘ during his set at Valencia’s Marenostrum Festival, where it received a spectacular reception.
Coyu and Ramiro Lopez are regular production partners, having released a number of tracks on Coyu’s own Suara in the past, as well as John Digweed’s esteemed Bedrock Records. This latest track on Drumcode further adds to their reputation as a force to be reckoned with.
Coyu has quickly gained a reputation as one of Spain’s most prominent names in electronic music. His Suara imprint is one of the most prolific of its genre; since being established back in 2008, it’s provided a home for releases from the likes of Hot Since 82, Noir, Paco Osuna, Pig&Dan, and Catz ’N Dogz, as well as a broad spectrum of homegrown Spanish talent.
Coyu’s own productions have previously been released not only on Suara, but also on labels as varied as Bedrock, Cocoon, Hot Creations, Cajual and Noir Music. As a DJ, he frequently plays high-profile gigs such as Space Ibiza, Warung Beach Club in Brazil, Output New York, and Watergate in Berlin. Meanwhile, his Suara label nights continue to be a sell-out success in his hometown of Barcelona, and have hosted events at BPM Mexico and Miami Music Week.
