Slowing down is not in the future for 19-year-old electronic music prodigy, Martin Garrix. After releasing chart-topping hits like his debut single ‘Animals’, which garnered over half a billion views on YouTube, being named in Billboard’s prestigious ’21 under 21’ as well as Forbes’ ’30 under 30’ list, recent collaborations with the likes of Usher and Tiësto, and becoming a resident at Omnia Las Vegas, Garrix can now add another accomplishment to start off the second half of 2015: a weekly residency at Ibiza’s prestigious club, Ushuaïa, beginning July 3rd, for the months of July & August.
Nearly a year ago, Martin performed at Ushuaïa for the first time opening for David Guetta where thousands were in attendance for his set. Martin’s new night, dubbed ‘Multiply’ will feature Oliver Heldens as direct support every week, with a slew of other opening talent to be announced soon. All of which begs the question: who are you going to Multiply with?
Heldens made his dance music entrance with his hit single ‘Gecko‘ which reached the #1 position in the UK charts. Since then, He has continued along his wave of success with his follow-up number, ‘Last All Night (Koala)‘ that listed at #5 in the UK charts, collaborations with Sander van Doorn and Zeds Dead, and remixes for the likes of Coldplay, Calvin Harris, and Tiësto.
Already having played at the world’s largest festivals he continues to be an innovator in the house scene and is ready for the summer to share his beloved funky style and his mission to get people dancing again with fans around the world.
Ushuaïa opened in May 2011 by its founder, Yann Pissenem. What started out as a small beach bar and restaurant has grown into one of Ibiza’s hottest locations for dance music. The hotel features 235 luxurious rooms and suites and is centered around the outdoor open air beach club, which is home to a few of the world’s most legendary DJs including David Guetta, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, and Axwell^Ingrosso. Garrix’s residency is a remarkable feat for someone at his young age.
