One of the brightest stars in the current Trance music rejuvenation that is taking the world by storm, Jordan Suckley has cemented is name as one of the most hardworking and exciting DJ’s and producers doing the rounds currently. Ahead of his set in the Godskitchen arena at GlobalGathering in 2 weeks time, GlobalGathering caught up with Jordan to talk about his new Future Trance mix album for Goodgreef with Craig Connelly and Photographer, the best upcoming talent and his plans for the summer.
G: Jordan, how are you? Jordan Suckley & Paul Webster- Help (The remixes) just got it’s release and you have the new album coming out on Monday. Exciting times. What can we expect from the new album?
J: I’m great thanks! With the new Goodgreef Compilation I have just selected a range of tracks I have been playing in my sets recently & also some great exclusives! Also I made a track especially for it called “Jordan Suckley- Contaminated”, which is getting released on my label Damaged Records and has already been played on Armin van Buuren’s ASOT Radio show two weeks on the run!
G: You played at Clash Of The Gods back in April… Can you give the Godskitchen fans at GlobalGathering an idea of what they’ll see from your set on Friday 25th July?
J: I will be making a load of special edits & should have some new remixes and originals from myself, coupled with the new Damaged material I have recently signed! Some Damage!!
G: What do you think makes GlobalGathering the event it is?
J: I love the diversity of the line up and think the production looks great! There always seems to be a special vibe there & its an privilege for me to be able to play the music I love there!
G: Summer’s always a busy time in the dance music world. What are your plans this summer?
J: I dont think I have ever been this busy before in terms of gigs.. I’m not getting much sleep at the moment thats for sure ha! Ibiza, all across America, Canada, Australia, Asia tour, India, Europe & loads of great festivals including Global of course! 🙂 On the production front I am doing remixes for Paul Oakenfold, Gareth Emery, Giuseppe Ottaviani and have 4 new originals coming up!
G: What’s the strangest thing that’s happened to you while performing? Any weird and whacky track requests?
J: I get strange track requests all the time… Someone asked me to play some Hiphop the other day.. “GTFO!” haha!
Do you have any pre-gig rituals? How do you hyped for a show?
J: I prefer to chill out just before I go on so I am focused. I flick through some ideas for my first two tracks & then I am ready for action! I only ever pick my first two tracks, after that I just go with the flow!
G: Trance seems to be going through a real rejuvenation recently with some hugely exciting DJ’s and producers coming through. Who from the current crop of new talent do you see as making a real impact on the scene?
J: Sneijder, Will Atkinson, Allen & Envy, James Dymond, Solis & Truby, Daniel Skyver, Xgenic, Allan Morrow, Sam Jones & Will Rees.
G: Thanks Jordan, catch you at GlobalGathering.
